One person’s obedience and surrender to a process and to healing will ALWAYS unlock someone else’s heart for healing, surrender and worship. We are here on this earth for a greater purpose—one that is watched over and cared for by God who is like a gardener. He prunes and cuts away and it hurts. But He fights over you, dances over you and He uses lyric and melody and surrender to do it through. Your encounter unlocks an encounter for someone else. Keep singing. Keep writing. Don’t flee in heartache—run to Him. Don’t fight against the pain—feel it and take it to your comforter and let Him comfort and heal you deep down. If we live in the shallow end we’ll never experience the fullness of what the deep unlocks. —Kari Jobe

Im weird.  I like weird things.  I like things weirdly.  Take for example, I like to eat my M&Ms by colour order, I don’t like peas and I dont like my food to touch on a plate.

I’m slightly obsessed with Lost, the tv show, and Star Wars and often know weird random facts about them that no one else may really care about like the fact that an estimated that 2.2 million full-time employees missed work to attend the film, resulting in a US$293 million loss of productivity.  I’m also slightly obsessed about missing people and cold cases at the moment and listen to a couple of podcasts about them – I think its the Lost thing but in real life.

I’m also 4 books away from the goal I set myself to read this year.   Weird and super geeky I know.  Anyway recently I read a book about art restoration, as you do, and it got me wandering off on a tangent thinking about how it applies to our identity as God’s masterpiece and the process we are on to become more like Jesus.

Art Restoration is a very specialized business.  Do it the wrong way and you end up with this…. Phrases such as “the worst restoration in history” and “a crayon sketch of a very hairy monkey in an ill-fitting tunic” were used to describe her attempt to repair the 1930 artwork – a depiction of Christ with a crown of thorns….

art restoration bad

Do it right and you can enhance the original beauty and glory of the artwork.

Im just listening to this album at the moment and its captivating.  Fresh worship stirs my heart towards God and prayer.

Spirit of God
Breathe on Your church
Pour out Your presence
Speak through Your word
We pray in every nation, Christ be known
Our hope and salvation, Christ alone

This song is a call to more, a call to give it all, a call to know God and make Him known…

I love the way that Kari Jobe prays at the beginning of this worship song….

Dont you love it when a song just grips your heart unexpectedly.  I was doing some SAS research for a session next week and had spotify on in the background and this song by Kari Jobe came on.  I hadnt heard it and thought oh yeah, nice sound and then carried on.  But the words washed over me and i found my heart joining in in the worship and the evident prayer for more of God, for His ways and His will, for His presence.

At once I was in the Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian. A rainbow, resembling an emerald, encircled the throne. Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads. From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder. Before the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are the seven spirits of God. Also before the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal.
In the centre, around the throne, were four living creatures, and they were covered with eyes, in front and behind. The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle. Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under his wings. Day and night they never stop saying:

"Holy, holy, holy
is the Lord God Almighty,
who was, and is, and is to come."

Revelation 4: 1-8

My life is in Your hands, Lord
My times are in Your hands
Though nations shake and storms they roll
I will trust in You completely

I yearn for more of You, Lord
Your grace alive in me
My life is nailed to Your hands that bled
In Your love my soul is free

You took my place, You took the fall
You took the nails that I may live forever, live forever
You rose again, You made a way
You broke the chains and now I’m Yours forever, I’m Yours forever

I worship You forever more
In joy and suffering
Until the day I see Your face
My whole life to You my offering

You took my place, You took the fall
You took the nails that I may live forever, live forever
You rose again, You made a way
You broke the chains and now I’m Yours forever, I’m Yours forever

Oh Jesus, Jesus, death could not hold You, freedom abounds
Oh Jesus, my Jesus, I sing of Your mercy, the power of the cross
Oh Jesus, Jesus, death could not hold You, freedom abounds
Oh Jesus, my Jesus, I sing of Your mercy, the power of the cross

for me this was the song of/for the conference.  we used it in our DESTINY TAKES FLIGHT CHAT SHOW

something about it just resonated with my heart

as women, as children of God we are called to be the light of the world

so let your light shine

make the most of the time we have been given

for such a time as this
