EM Flag Evangeline Flag

Evangeline’s class have been looking at where they all come from.  There are some really interesting cultures and so they have been busy talking about flags and heritage.  They made their own flag that represents who they are and what is special and important about them.  Note that Evangeline’s has Jesus and God in her flag.  I love her boldness and faith!

my primary school are having a 50th jubilee this year and so some wonderful person made a FB page and its been wonderful reconnecting with old friends and familiar faces.  I’m not going to the reunion but am looking forward to seeing photos etc.  For those who want to know where i am in this… i’m bottom row on the right.  Where i sat for EVERY class photo EVERY year, even in high school!

part of our SAS course is to go deeper into physical health.  each student has a physical plan and last week we had a nutritionist come in and talk about food and healthy choices.   We also did our first group cross training.  No, not the cross of Jesus Christ, but a series of exercises and then a 400m run, repeated.  We each have an individual set of reps to do.  For me this was huge.  First time exercising in public.  And in the sun.  I get up early and do my workout in the cool of the day and by myself.  I’m kinda unco and well, exercise has never really being part of my life.  I was blessed to have a great metabolism until i had my 2nd and turned 30 so i’m turning back the clock and working hard.  and feeling great.   i’m happy to report the cross training did not kill me.  and in fact the rush of endorphins afterwards and that winning feeling was great.  i must remember sunscreen next time though!

"Call it a clan, call it a network, call it a tribe, call it a family. Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one."

One of the clearest findings from research into happiness is that we are social creatures…Studies show that not having close personal ties poses the same level of health risk as smoking or obesity. High levels of social support appears to increase our immunity to infection, lower our risk of heart disease and reduce mental decline as we get older. In sum, social connections have a tremendous impact on our health and well-being so nurture your relationships, they will save your life!  Project Happiness

The picture is of one of our most important “whatevers.”  Its our housegroup.  Our housegroup has lost some people to a new (older and wiser) group and we have some new younger peeps coming along now too which is wonderful.  We love them with everything we are.  They are our clan, our network, our tribe, our family.

and as always.  i love Jesus with all i am and all my heart and all my soul and all my days. For His glory and the building of His kingdom and the rescue of the lost.
