i love how getting away for even just a weekend can be life changing… i have loved the conversations at the weekender and post it about how God has challenged us and the steps people are making towards Him…  i love the opportunity to connect with new people and to catch up with people that sometimes you dont get to hang with on a Sunday… i love the sense of going on a adventure together and the potential and expectation that God will come and then the realisation and awe that yes, He so did.

this year Tony and I slept off site, at a bach belonging to friends of ours.  it was blissful and we probably had the best sleep out of everyone.  and needed it!  we would sneak off after midnight and then return at 7.30 to help with the delish breakfasts (i cooked GF for 4)

on our way home we had a bit of an adventure too – a plot twist which has so many “i am so grateful” statements attached to it.  our car totally broke down, as in ping peeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep clunk.  we pulled over and that was it.  i knew a couple that were on camp were only five minutes behind us and so phoned them for HELP!  in the end tony stayed with the car (90km out of auckland) and waited for a tow truck and i got a ride with our friends.  thankfully the kids were having a sleep over adventure with granny and so i rung her and told her what was going on and she graciously kept the kids until we were free to pick them up.  and fed them the beautiful roast dinner we were going to have together.  long story short the cambelt broke and water pump seized but God is good and in control.

but all in all this will go down as one of the most memorable and wonderful weekends of the year – and the best weekender in the world!
