Welcome to One Passion One Devotion!
Its a real honour for you to come and read and be a part of the conversation. Please feel totally free to comment and ask questions!
My life mission is to Know God and make Him Known… and i believe my blog is an extension of my expression of that…
Themes that abound on this blog are: God – who he is, what he does, revival, passion for Jesus, evangelism, faith expressed in real life, trusting God no matter what, things from my bible, things i see on the net, heroes of the faith, worship, cool things about God, prayers, answers to prayers. this is my expression of my dreams and heart… my legacy… my life on paper…
So sit back and enjoy and i pray be inspired and encouraged to have faith in our awesome God!
I’m a 35 year old chick in Auckland, New Zealand. Not only do I live in the best country in the world, and have the best job, but I also go to the best church in the world… yes seriously!
I’m dreaming of revival and living to make God famous! I love Jesus and let His love transform and permeate my life.
I’m passionate about people knowing God, believing He is real and loves them and has called and empowered them. I’m passionate about people encountering God and drawing closer to Him.
I love seeing young adults live changed lives because of Jesus, and am becoming more and more increasingly interested (aka passionate!) about women, esp young women and young mums (okay any woman of any age) discovering who God has created them to be, His child, loved and cherished, rescued and recruited. I think part of my God created DNA is that I want to live to make a difference – and that the people in my life are different because of God’s grace through me.
I long for revival. I believe in the gospel and sharing the message of Good News as well as living it. I believe in God’s ableness to do amazing things. I believe there is more than we live and see now… nothing is impossible for God.
LORD, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, O LORD. Renew them in our day, in our time make them known; Habakkuk 3:2
Who am I?
Hi – my name is Claire, and I am a SAHM, of 9 year old son and a 6 year old daughter. I’ve been married for 10 years to an amazing spunk, my best friend and encourager extrodinnaire. More importantly I’ve been a christian since 1993 and that is what defines me, or rather been a child of God is really WHO I am. and i can now say that i have been a christian for MORE of my life than not a christian (does that make sense….) i preach and i write/format our church magazine and am blest to lead the best housegroup in the world – an awesome radical bunch of young adults whom we adore with everything.
When am I?
Born in 1976 I’m 35, which is great. I think as you get older it is awesome, because a) you know Jesus longer and thus closer, and b) people might think you are wiser and know something so they listen to you… that is the theory anyway!
I think I’m alive in the most exciting days of history. I believe that we could be living in the last days (however long they last – Jesus said soon remember to his apostles and they awaited the day with eager expectation in their lifetime… so I follow example and cry Come Jesus Come!) and also follow the example of David, who served his generation and then died. Where I AM is where I AM and i’m going to run and burn and declare the works of God to my generation and the generations to come!
Esther 4:14 And who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for a time like this?
Where am I?
I am in Auckland New Zealand, best place to live in the world. For those not in the know, New Zealand is in the Southern Hemisphere, in fact go further south and you hit Antarctica. Think Lord of the Rings…. There are 3 main islands to our nation, and I live in the North Island, though have lived all the way down in the south and in between.
Why am I?
God made me. He loves me. I have a plan and a destiny. When I became a Christian I DIDN’T know that. One of the reasons I was attracted to Jesus (apart from the work of the Holy Spirit!) was because of the truth in this song “Don’t you know that I formed you before you were born I knew you, Don’t you know that my plan for you is good…. Don’t you know that I formed you before you were born I knew you, Don’t you know that my plan for you is good…. Look and see I’ve engraved you on the palms of my hands…. Look and see I’ve engraved you on my hands….”
I believe I am called to reflect the glory of God – to shine for Him, to demonstrate His love and grace in all i am and all i do and all i say.
2 Corinthians 4:7But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.
2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with our face having been unveiled, having beheld the glory of the Lord as in a mirror, are being changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Lord Spirit.
My life vision is to Know Him and make Him known, be that by preaching, one on one friendship, through what I write, through who I am.
other random things you may be curious to know:
i like Lost, chocolate, coke cola, reading, movies, old books about revival, Jesus Culture, musicals, Linkin Park, chicken masala, Star Trek, coffee, cheesecake, vintage tees, funky necklaces, chunky rings, rainbows, thunderstorms, stary nights, taking photos of my kids, hanging out with friends….
regular features on this blog are:1000 Things (my gratitude list), Totally Love Tuesday, Worship Wednesday, Tweet Week and @stickyjesus read through…

Without a doubt, you are productive. I’m amazed at how much you write and the quality of it. Maybe, it’s not using capital letters.
Two things though (free advice is sometimes good, often bad, you must decide, okay?):
1. Make fireball3316 come to life so that it leads people to your site. If you don’t know how? Go to your DASHBOARD. Click on MY ACCOUNT. Then click on EDIT PROFILE. Drop down on page to CONTACT INFO. Under EMAIL info is WEBSITE. Fill in WEBSITE info as follows:
http://onepassiononedevotion.wordpress.com
2. Use your prophetic gifts more in your writing.

hi larry – hi i didnt know how to do that – re the make the website come up so thanks for the helpful advice!
yeah i write lots eh… and sometimes i then take old stuff and rewrite. most of it comes out of something i read in my bible readings or also stuff i work on for our church mag. i edit and format it and also write for it so as good practice i write something at least once a week. i also have been blessed to preach at our yung adults group a few times this year and be part of a preaching course where we had to have a msesage prepared each week – so i just write them out fuller for here…. i really appreciate your encouragement and support….

Kia Ora Claire -
Greetings from Mt Pleasant, Adelaide(ex Herald Island, ex Ramarama).
Like your style, and want to encourage you to keep writing. BTW, capital letters are not sinful or anything, they are really nice harmless little thingy’s, and can sometimes even be BENEFICIAL when used sparingly.
You have paid me the compliment of borrowing one of my graphics in your
“just one word” post. You are probably not aware of the net ethics here that apply. If you hot-link to another site for a graphic, then that site owner is paying for hosting your traffic hits on your site (which is how I found what you have done.) Please download a copy of the picture to your own computer, and THEN load it into your Word_Press blog – or give their site a credit when you borrow their work – or both.
Regards – Rhys

thats cool – keep praying and seeking God – i have found Him always faithful in revealing what to do and where to go – even if it is one step at a time…
one way that i found out what my gifts were and what God had called me to be was to just get involved – to serve – perhaps for yourself in the worship team or something like that…
