Five Minute Friday: AGAIN

the phrase HERE WE ARE AGAIN jumps into my head

but then i remind myself

THIS is a fresh moment

a fresh minute

a fresh second

a fresh adventure

a fresh activity

a fresh situation

a fresh conversation

right NOW is fresh and new

and i can choose to fill it with the grace of a new moment

or carry with me the regret, discouragement, disappointment and bitterness of the past

HERE WE ARE AGAIN

repeated patterns of unforgiveness, a neglect of grace, a choosing to hold onto the brokeness and failings of another person, of self, of circumstance

HERE WE ARE AGAIN

keeping score and record of wrongs

BUT

HERE WE ARE AGAIN

God’s mercy is new every morning

every day God’s mercy will find me, cover me, restore me

there is grace for every moment and every falling

love covers and keeps no record of wrongs

it is my choice, again, to forgive, to redeem, to reconcile, to love

HERE WE ARE AGAIN

a fresh moment to experience the joy of living
