i confess when i think about the word ENOUGH i think about it in terms of limitations.

i dont have enough money to buy x y z.

i dont have enough butter to make the cookies.

i dont have enough time to spare today.

i dont have enough energy to do all that i want to do.

i dont have enough wisdom or gifting to step out.

 

but i remember reading something recently that has challenged my perception of that word.

jesus is enough.

He is all we need.

His blood covers us completely.

His salvation sacrifice pays totally.

His love is enough, more than enough to satisfy us.

The Holy Spirit empowers us, working in us to make us enough for the task at hand.

Jesus’ grace is enough, we cannot add to it or earn it. 

His peace is enough to get us through the hardest season.

 

enough.  God’s provision and love and grace and strength and power stretches over our every need and every lack.  it supplies.  it fills.  it overflows. 

it is more than enough.

 

i want to live a more than enough life. 

trusting that in the times when i dont feel like i have *enough* money, time, energy, gifting, wisdom – that He does. 

i will rest in that.

that is enough for me.

 

Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]— Ephesians 3:20 AMP

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us Ephesians 3:20 NIV

We often miss our moment because we are waiting for the perfect moment.

The moment the planets will align.
The moment every “I” is dotted and every “T” is crossed.
The moment we have 3 more confirmations to back up the 10 we already have.
The moment everyone approves.
The moment all the money comes through.
The moment everyone is on board.
The moment when we are qualified enough.
The moment when we are experienced enough.
The moment we are connected enough.
The moment we have prayed enough.
The moment we have fasted enough.

We are not sure when that moment is but it is always in some future time.
It is always not quite now.
Not yet.

The moment when we, who are not yet enough and don’t have enough, will somehow be enough, do enough, and have enough.

Let me be clear – we will never be enough.
We will never be…
Smart enough
Talented enough
Resourced enough
Perfect enough
Connected enough
Knowledgeable enough

We are not meant to be.

That is why we serve the God that is MORE THAN ENOUGH – El Shaddai
