And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God,being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.  Colossians 1:10-13

He is the image of the invisible God,

the firstborn over all creation.

For by him all things were created:

things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities;

all things were created by him and for him.

He is before all things,

and in him all things hold together.

And he is the head of the body, the church;

he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.

For God was pleased to have all his fulness dwell in him,

and through him

to reconcile to himself all things,

whether things on earth or things in heaven,

by making peace

through his blood,

shed on the cross.

Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behaviour.

But now

he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body

through death

to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation

-if you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel.   Colossians 1:15-23

When we’re living our lives with intentional gratitude we’re fixing our eyes upon Jesus and agreeing YES He is good and YES He is faithful and YES He is Lord and YES He is the one who loves us!  Gratitude is an expression of faith.

Be joyful: Intentionally look around for measures of joy each day. There is joy in simply being alive and in being redeemed by God. Remember, joy is a choice we make, not a feeling we hope to get from our circumstances. It’s good to look for the good, to celebrate it even in small ways. Doing so is a moment of victory.  Lysa TerKeurst

“Too often I miss Him, oblivious, blind. I don’t see all the good things that He is giving me, gracing me with, brushing my life with. True, He is everywhere, always. Before I thought of Him as further off, not so close. When I started to see all the things that I love bestowed upon me, I started to see Him as near, present, everywhere, showering me with good things. Seeing the things I love all around me gives me eyes to see that I am loved, that He loves me.” Ann Voskamp

so there we go.  venturing on in life to 3000 things that i am grateful for…

Teach believers with your life: by word, by demeanour, by love, by faith, by integrity. Stay at your post reading Scripture, giving counsel, teaching. And that special gift of ministry you were given when the leaders of the church laid hands on you and prayed—keep that dusted off and in use. Cultivate these things. Immerse yourself in them. The people will all see you mature right before their eyes! Keep a firm grasp on both your character and your teaching. Don’t be diverted. Just keep at it. Both you and those who hear you will experience salvation.  1 Timothy 4:11-16

SPEAKER: Julie Richard – The Gift of Ministry @ JustONE Virtual Conference at LEADING AND LOVING IT

am i right for this role?

i AM who God has made me, created uniquely for His purposes

don’t be limited by people’s perceptions and limitations

don’t “look around” for other peoples opinions or even their example

where there is no revelation from God the people cast off restraint – proverbs

instead of getting a revelation from God we often look around at those who are being themselves

when we look around we can become: fearful, intimidated, self conscious

comparison is the thief of joy

God knew exactly what He was doing when He created us.

we look to HIM to what gifts we have and what our role is and what our life will look like

find the REVELATION from God

and then you’ll find freedom in knowing who i am

accept His identity, embrace His identity

God – what is YOUR VISION for my life?

spend TIME with God, find out His vision

YOU have to find out yourself what the pattern is

confidence in your calling comes from identifying who you are created to be

for such a time as this!

i so loved this message – loved the challenge to embrace who God has made us to be, to be confident in His love and plans and to then get out there and just do it.  For such a time as this God made me like ME.  not to be a carbon copy like someone else, not to shadow someone else’s style, but to be myself, as He created me to be.  As myself i can be effective for His glory in His service.  Makes me just take a deep breath and relax.  i don’t have to strive to be like x y z.  i am ME – created and designed for a tailor made God ordained purpose
