my daughter did the sweetest thing the other day… me and caleb had been playing scrabble the night before and not cleaned up our game… so the next morning before getting the short ones up i wrote I LOVE YOU in tiles on the board and just waited for my son to discover it (he’s words of affirmation just like me) – and then i walked past it an hour later and was delighted to see I LOVE YOU MUM on the board… someone had added MUM! i went and hugged my son and said thank you and he looked at me blankly. for the MUM? adding the MUM bit to the I LOVE YOU…? still blank… “that was me” piped up a small voice… it was my evangeline! she had added the MUM!!! how cute is that!
one of our guys in our housegroup is an amazing baker. a week or so ago he brought along a dairy free peppermint slice – so my husband got him to email the recipe… and yes i caught the hint… so today i made it… and YUM YUM YUM! i wish the caramel slice did as well… oh well, we move on. in fact we have a few amazing bakers so are having a baking contest this week at housegroup!
i was talking a friend about cool things on youtube the other day and remembered these guys and particularly this clip. they’re so clever and humorous and then wham, you’re tearing up and moved to the heart… such a gift… watch it… byo tissues…
love this sign. such a good family contract kind of motto kinda thing. we do love. we do grace. we do real.

Lord, Whatever It Takes, Make Me Like You!”
You long to serve God with grace and strength, to reflect Christ in every word and action. Yet you find yourself continually struggling to bring that vision to life in your daily walk.
At our very core, every one of us is a “twisted sister” within whom the flesh and spirit battle constantly for control. We are afflicted with spiritual schizophrenia, the disconnect between our “good girl” desire to put Jesus first and our “bad girl” realities that crowd our thoughts and push him out of the way.
In this life-changing book, Joanna Weaver, author of the perennial bestseller, Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World, directs your gaze past your own shortcomings to the God who stands ready, willing, and able to make a new woman out of you. She equips you with biblical insights and practical tools to partner with Christ, inviting him into the hidden places of your soul and giving him full permission to redeem and renovate.
Drawing on the stories of biblical Marys and others whose experience with God transformed their lives, Joanna shows how you can find the hope, healing, wholeness, and joy your heart longs for. Having a Mary Spirit will launch you toward lasting personal transformation–soul-deep change that results in a complete makeover, from the inside out. Amazon
and as always. i love Jesus with all i am and all my heart and all my soul and all my days. For His glory and the building of His kingdom and the rescue of the lost.

yes i wish it was MY wall – but alas no – but it is my heart. i should really print it out and stick on the fridge, as sometimes us mums need that reminder to have grace! (or is that just me!)
