i am not sure if this is classified as a worship song… i hear it on radio rhema, our christian radio station. but my heart sure turns to worship when i hear it! This is our God, mighty to save, the defender of the weak, our redeemer and saviour and rescuer. this is our God, who we can trust and be secure in. He loves us with an everlasting love and He has the power! He is The Power! at His great name lost are saved, eyes opened, shame conquered, the enemy defeated. i love how worship lifts our eyes – lets lift them to this reality – He is great and good and powerful and has the solution and victory for every need and question and circumstance! this is one of those songs that have popped on the radio at just the right time… just when i’ve needed hope, encouragment, faith – w hen i’ve needed a faith adjustment, when i’ve needed a reminder that YES God is Great!
Lost are saved; find their way; at the sound of your great name
All condemned; feel no shame, at the sound of your great name
Every fear; has no place; at the sound of your great name
The enemy; he has to leave; at the sound of your great name
[Chorus:]
Jesus, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain for us, Son of God and Man
You are high and lifted up; that all the world will praise your great name
All the weak; find their strength; at the sound of your great name
Hungry souls; receive grace; at the sound of your great name
The fatherless; they find their rest; at the sound of your great name
Sick are healed; and the dead are raised; at the sound of your great name
[Bridge:]
Redeemer, My Healer, Almighty
My savior, Defender, You are My King
oh my goodness this is the funniest thing – but also totally moving – its Beth Moore talking about a hairbrush… and witnessing… and demonstrating God’s love… and being obedient to the nudge of the Holy Spirit… it made me laugh and leak all at the same time!
i have just discovered Bon Iver. amazing folkish group. kinda like gungor in a way. beautiful music. i know, where have i been? i have heard of them, several times mentioned here and there and finally decided to quell my curiosity. so on my wish list.
wow dont these look AMAZING! a) i love chocolate brownies and b) they look so christmasy and inviting! may make something like that for our housegroup… though i dont think they’ll turn out as pro looking!
speaking of delish, i had the most yummiest mochachino this morning at The Coffee Club at Sylvia Park. made better by the conversation. i was meeting a friend of mine, a young woman who got saved in my lounge earlier this year. being a newish christian she’s going thru things and learning about grace. but i love watching God at work. Coffee and grace – good way to start the day!
before having coffee at Sylvia Park i did some shopping and discovered SEEDLING KIDS STORES – what a fun place! has lots of creative gifts and neat stuff! picked up some draw your own lunchboxes for my nieces for their birthday this weekend… and i see they have holiday fun activities there… will be back!
i love the Word of God. i love that we can read it and that God speaks in it and through it – personal things to us. Personal guidance, personal revelation, personal grace, personal love, personal challenges. i love YOUVERSION – an internet based bible reading plan and devotional reading plan resource. it has truckloads of versions and plans. you can read it online or on your iphone. you can click a box and mark your progress. i love reading plans because it creates habit and regularity and thus opportunity for God to speak.
and as always. i love Jesus with all i am and all my heart and all my soul and all my days. For His glory and the building of His kingdom and the rescue of the lost.
