we are called to be the light of the world, to burn alight for Jesus, to shine his love and grace to those around us, to be like a candle in a dark room illuminating the truth of who God is.
Jesus IS THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD and he is the one who calls us to be lights in teh world, shining like stars in a corrupt generation. he passes the mission onto us. as he shines so we should shine. as he revealed the Father so we should reveal the Father.
be burning for God.

Burning Ones
(Chris Quilala, Jesus Culture)
Here inside Your presence,
I’m taken by the wonder of You
Here inside Your glory,
we give our lives fully to You
And we cry Holy, Holy are You
We cry Holy, Holy are You
Your Love it burns inside,
Our hearts are satisfied by You
Your Love is all we want,
is why we ask for more of You
Holy, Holy are You
Our hearts are burning, burning for You
We are Your burning ones,
We are consumed by You
We set our lives apart,
We are consumed by You
So let this light be like a fire, Let our light be like a flame
Fill our souls with Your desire, Let our passion bring You fame
So let this love be like a fire, Let our lives be like a flame
Fill our souls with Your desire, Let our passion bring You fame

I am glad that some rock bands are on fire for Jesus.I wish there were more bands out there like that.I grew up listening to the likes of AC/DC,Judas Priest,Nirvana and ohter secular bands.

hi mike, i totally know what you mean – i loved pearl jam and soundgarden etc…. and then became a chrsitian and the bands were all real easy listening and “terrible” in my musical opinion. but then i was given a worship tape and i was totally blown away – jesus culture is my fav at the moment – they have a new album out called “Consumed” which is very good and their first album “We Cry Out” is awesome. it totally draws you towards God in worship and prayer and has a real cry for people to know Him and make him known.

I’ve always liked the song “Sweet Piece of God “by Sharon Keagy the daughter of Phil Keagy.I heard it back in the late 1990′s and I fell in love with it.I am so used to listening to groups like Nirvana, and other alternative groups that It takes time to get into Christian music but I am coming around to it.
